That's how you do it!
Lone'er Kavanagh fulfilled the high praise preceding him by knocking out An Tuan Ho at the Dana White's Contender Series season opener. Kavanagh, (7-0) who is half British and half Chinese, came into DWCS with a lot of hype from his exciting fights at Cage Warriors.
The fight started with An Tuan Ho (6-1) playing the aggressor while Kavanagh worked his counter-striking. A straight right from Ho landed flush on the left side of the face of Kavanagh for the first significant strike of the bout. This fight looked to be a battle between two competitors with a lot of similar skills and tendencies.
At halfway through the first round, Ho was working the jab while Kavanagh preferred to go low, kicking the leg and body of Ho. And there it was! Lone'er Kavanagh connected on a left hook at two minutes and twenty-five seconds of the first round that absolutely melted An Tuan Ho. The Vietnamese fighter instantly fell to the mat unconscious and the camera cut to Dana White and company, who looked more than pleased.
Ho took over a minute to regain his awareness, but before long was back on his feet. Kavanagh, on the other hand, stopped by Dana White's table, for the UFC CEO to reveal that his notes on Kavanagh simply read "HOLY SH**".
Most likely Kavanagh would become the first fighter from season eight of the contender series to win a UFC contract, likely becoming the newest of a long queue of thrilling UFC flyweight prospects.
