After a successful return from a long layoff, Mizuki looks continue her climb back up the UFC strawweight division.

According to a report from AG Fight, the Japanese strawweight Mizuki Inoue (15-6) will fight Brazilian grappling specialist Jacqueline Amorim (8-1) at UFC Fight Night: Burns vs. Brady on September 7th (also known as UFC Vegas 97). The fight takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Inoue last fought in September against Hannah Goldy, winning by unanimous decision.

Injuries had delayed kept the twenty-nine year old out of action for three years. The break put a damper on the excitement around the Japanese prospect's rise, having gone 3-2 in the UFC to date.

Competing in Invicta and DEEP Jewels before the UFC, Mizuki Inoue has eight career wins by armbar submission. Primarily training out of New York's Longo-Weidman MMA, Mizuki's only professional MMA losses come to the very top of the strawweight division- including names like Alexa Grasso, Virna Jandiroba, and Amanda Lemos. Her UFC wins come against Goldy, Wu Yanan, and Viviane Pereira.

Amorim, also twenty-nine years old, is a grappling wizard like Inoue. Six of her eight pro wins come by submission, most recently an armbar victory against Cory McKenna in March. The Brazilian calls south Florida's American Top Team home.

The UFC is yet to announced broadcast plans for UFC Vegas 97, but it's likely to air on ESPN+ in the United States. The main event of the card will feature a clash of top welterweights Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady.
